Judicial Experience

1978 - 1993  Judge, Los Angeles Superior Court (Central and West Districts)

Assignments in civil, criminal, family law, law and motion, and probate cases. Served Pro Tem on the Court of Appeal. Extensive experience in personal injury, medical and legal malpractice, wrongful termination, product liability, real property cases, as well as contracts and general business litigation.

Appointed to the California Supreme Court to the Commission of Judicial Performance in 1985. Has served on dozens of committees of the California Judges Association and the Los Angeles Superior Court including Settlement and Protracted Litigation, Ethics, Continuing Judicial Studies Program Planning, and Bench and Bar.

Appointed to the commission on Gender Bias in the Courts by the Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court.

Past chair of the Retired Judges Committee of the California Judges Association. Former faculty member of the National Judicial College and the California Judges College and has been a guest lecturer at the Rutter Group, CEB, California State Bar, as well as various local bar associations, law schools and community organizations.

Prior to being appointed to the bench, Judge Radin was a sole practitioner for over twenty years specializing in civil and family law. She is a former President of the Santa Monica Bar Association and a charter member of the California Women Lawyers Association.

ADR Experience

Since retiring, has served as a private judge for mediations, settlement conferences, and arbitrations, and as a discovery referee. Was also Special Master in a discipline hearing of a sitting judge brought by the Commission of Judicial Performance.

Has completed two certification programs in mediation: one at the National Judicial College and the other at the Institute of Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law. Member of the national Society of Professionals in Dispute Resolution.
